CHARACTER
Name The Fool
Canon Robin Hobb's Realm of the Elderlings books (e.g., the Farseer trilogy, Liveship trilogy, Tawny Man trilogy, etc.)
Age Unknown; the Fool has a curiously ageless appearance, but is approximately thirty-five to forty years old.
Birthright Jewel Green, as determined by RNG.
Dreams made flesh Death. The Fool foresaw his own death as an essential component in bringing about the ideal future for his world--and, having been brought back to life after dying for that future, he feels cast adrift from the narrative of his own life. He will use his gifts to help the Queen achieve her ends, in exchange for his own death assuming he is successful. If this is beyond her means to provide, then he asks for nothing.
Canon point The very end of Fool's Fate, the last book in the Tawny Man trilogy, after FitzChivalry has brought him back from death using the combined power of the Skill, Wit, and the rooster crown.
Canon Powers

POWER: Prophet and Prophesy.
The Fool is the White Prophet of his age, born with the gift (or curse) of foresight and the sheer bloody-minded determination to do whatever he must to bring about the best possible future for the world. In his canon, an entire religion in a remote corner of the world has risen and subsequently fallen to corruption around the lineage of the White Prophet, due to the unique abilities those born from that lineage possess. (There is much in the canon material that distinguishes those born with the linage and some innate prophetic ability from the White Prophet, but it is canon-specific and plot-heavy, and so isn't materially relevant to Draega.)

The future--or futures, as the case may be--comes to the Fool in two forms: either through highly stylized dreams that are layered in symbolism and metaphor, or more rarely through glimpsing the 'threads' of meaning and possibility that exist, interconnected, between all living things. These two powers are separate from each other, but inter-related: the dreams provide him the road maps towards a given future, either good or bad, and the threads are connections he can work to alter or impact to bring about a given result. He can 'pluck' one of these threads to alter even the most mundane course of events (e.g., encourage a girl to take the left fork in the road, rather than the right, to avoid stumbling into a mud puddle that will ruin her dress), in addition to the bigger, world-altering ones (e.g., working to return dragons to the skies).

This is a tremendous power for any one person to possess, but he can leverage it only within the confines of his role as White Prophet. The Fool can prophesy possible futures, can select a specific future to bring to fruition, but he cannot change that future. The only individual capable of changing the futures that the White Prophet has foreseen is that White Prophet's Catalyst--and in the Fool's canon, that person is FitzChivalry Farseer. (In A Gentle Night, it is up in the air whether that role can be fulfilled by someone else.)

NOTE:  For the purposes of A Gentle Night, I am willing to keep the weirdly stylized dreams and nerf the Fool's ability to see those threads of connection between living things and actions, unless the mod team wishes to use that aspect of his abilities to achieve a given outcome in the game! In the past I have consented to players leveraging his abilities to further both player plots and the central plot arc, but I also recognize that this can be a potentially game-breaking ability. I'm flexible, so please reach out to me if there are any mechanics or content mentioned here that need extra negotiation.

POWER:  Skill-touched Fingers.
Two of the Fool's fingertips are silver with raw magic from his canon known as the Skill, which enable him to 1) touch an object and know incredible facts about its status and history in exacting (and sometimes overwhelming) detail, 2) create lifelike works of art from various materials, predominately wood. As is the case with people who are born with the Skill in their blood, the Skill even in this form has an addictive allure that initially caused the Fool to take dangerous risks with his new gifts. (It is not uncommon for untested Skill users to become 'lost in the Skill river,' a kind of telepathic river accessible only to the mind--and remains a risk even for those who have mastered it.)

The Fool was not born with this ability, but acquired it when his fingertips accidentally brushed against his king's arm, which was completely coated with the silver Skill.

NOTE:  In previous settings, the Fool has used this ability predominately to

JEWEL IMPACT
The Fool's Green Jewel enhances some of his innate prophetic abilities by a slight margin beyond what they are in his canon material.

Personality Describe your character's personality, considering what strengths made the Queen of Hayll select them as a hero and how their weaknesses can be utilized as a character arc for obtaining their Jewel of rank. You need not be explicit about either of those things, but this section of the app should be written with those concepts in mind.

History A link will do just fine. If informational material is scarce or is written laden with canon-specific jargon, please provide a short summary as needed.
